I wish to buy brand new Iphone 4. Since its not officially launched in India, I guess only option I have is to buy from Grey market (none of my US friends are returning in recent future) . I am willing to pay money provided I am satisfied with the product. I went to Gaffar market n found that these guys selling seal packed factory unlocked device for 32.5K and 34K (16GB) , they claim that this phone can be used with any sim. I dont expect guarrenty/bill from them, I just want a brand new phone without being cheated any way.
Can Gaffar market be trusted with selling the right product? Are those really seal packed phones - or are 2nd hand phones manually sealed inside? Is factory Unlock really done in each phone or its just a statement being used to sell?|||It's likely that those are iClones - fake iPhones. They are unlocked and can work with any sim but they are not iPhones, do not run Apple's OS and are basically crap.|||i think its not safe. My friend experienced this. His iphone stopped working in 3 months from the date he bought it. The device might be tampered, you never know it may be stolen.
I would rather wait for an official launch or get it from U.S via any relative or friend.|||Not really. Just wait till iPhone 5 comes out in a few months!
