"Gray market" lens question?

I'm planning on getting the Nikkor 70-300mm lens from Adorama for my Nikon D200, and they're going for $120 and are gray market.

http://www.adorama.com/NK70300AFGB.html

Should I trust this? Doesn't gray market just mean "made in a different country?"|||It's an inexpensive lens and you won't be giving it for autofocus adjustments or servicing till any problem occurs. Adorama is a good dealer. Go ahead and buy it.|||Grey market means that model was not intended by the manufacturer to be sold in this country. It is not illegal, but it has caveats. It may come with instructions that are in a foreign language. not too much of a problem as a lens should be "self-explanatory" but could be a big problem with a complex camera with menus. It will not have a factory warranty.

Buying grey market means you will be dependent of the seller (adorama in this case) for your service and support needs. if you move or travel a lot, that could be a difficulty.|||No longer a professional photographer but I used to buy from Adorama all the time with no troubles and they had a good reputation, no idea what they're like now, but I expect still top notch. A grey market lens is built no differently than any other lens or camera. The price difference is they weren't intended for the the US market. A lot of it is intended for markets with favorable trade policies and less regulation when it comes to warranties and insurance.|||B%26amp;H gray market items are serviced by B%26amp;H if they break.

Perhaps Adorama has a similar policy. Adorama is considered a trustworthy vendor.

Are there any hair color products on the market that will enhance my gray hair?

I've tried to dye my hair back to the original color, but my grays are too resistent and the color won't "take".|||Shimmering Lights is a good product for enhancing gray hair. You can also use it with blonde highlighted hair...just do not leave it on overnight as I did once...you will have purple hair for weeks! LOL|||You are most welcome and happy enhancing! LOL thanks!

|||Just shave your head.|||Try a shampoo for very light blonde hair, it removes all the yellow tones and works very well on grey hair. ( exp. John Frieda for blonde hair) if you have a reg stylist ask them to order you shimmering light shampoo. you can use it once or twice a week. it is a blue based shampoo that works great on grey hair and blonde|||as a matter of fact there is at wal-mart|||Just go with the silver, dude.

I'm early 40s, getting some silver; wishing I had more.

I figure with my dark skin-tone, silver will look cool.

My daughter teases me, saying, I'm the only guy wanting more grey hair.|||color will always take....just use the right kind. i always stick with a level 5 or 6 permanent..not just the wash out kind!

|||I'm not doing it, but there's a shop in our area (very close to the border) which sells pirating material and DirectTV cards that have to be renewed periodically as they tend to have to be re-programed around major sporting events.

Where can I download Microsoft Office Home and Student 2007 for a good price direct to computer?

I am looking for an authentic version, not pirated.

It was $149 (retail) in box from Best Buy and I know I can do better than that.

But I'm not looking to skimp just to get a grey market product. It needs to be authentic.

Ideally I could direct download to my computer now and have the discs sent to me as well.|||Well why not search the web in your country to get the best possible price and have them mail it to you. In the meantime download the trial version from the Microsoft website and use that. When your product arrives in the mail you can then enter the registration key that's printed on the product packaging and then when on the net click the authenticate button and away you go - best of both worlds

I have bought software from all of these at times, and found them honest and reliable. StarCDROM handles children's software, so you might find it there. I know you can get a better price than $149. |||Yes, Openoffice is free, and pretty much the same programs. However, if you are looking for the Office suite (legally), then the link below is your source.

Beyond that I don't think Microsoft gives education discounts.

What is gray market.I'm looking to buy a camera?

when asking about cameras|||adorama.com has some gray market products

they explain what gray market is and how it works|||A gray market camera is a camera which is identical to what you'd get (with US warranty) - but it was imported via a third party, instead of through the official distributor.

You'd save a little, but if it breaks, you'd have to send it to someone else (usually provided by the seller) instead.

Not worth saving that sort of money because you may have problem getting it repaired, even if you want to pay for it, once the "warranty" runs out.|||To further explain, be informed that Nikon will not repair a gray market camera. If you buy a Nikon camera or lens that was not officially imported by Nikon USA, they will not repair it under warranty. AND, they won't repair it in any case, even if you offer to pay. Independent service centers can do minor repairs, but won't be able to send it in for any technical support.

That's like buying a car that the maker won't supply original parts for.
