http://www.amazon.com/gp/redirect.html?i鈥?/a>|||I wasn't impressed when the D40 was new, might be OK as a backup if you own only AF-S lenses, Nikon crippled this camera by limiting AF to only new (expensive) AF-S lenses. My D50 is much older and more compatible and my venerable D70 is more camera than either. To be fair I must add that I have a large investment in older AF and AF-D lenses that will meter fine with the D40, D40X and D60 but these lenses will NOT AF on this model.





Look to the new 3100 if you are looking for an inexpensive Nikon DSLR.|||This isn't much of a camera. Nikon make plenty of fine cameras, but this isn't a good example of their line.
