Any thoughts on a gray market Canon T2i?

getitdigital has an interesting bundle and we're considering it. Thanks.|||A gray market T2i is probably not a bad thing if you want to save some cash (though you won't get a US warranty from Canon). However, what worries me the most is the crappy bundles they are offering.

I went to getitdigital to check them out and having seen what they are offering, I recommend you AVOID any camera with a bundle. The bundles include cheap and crappy lenses and crappy 'adapter' lenses are included as proper lenses.

Remember, if it's real cheap...it's cheap for a reason.

The only cheap extra lens I see worth getting (that is offered in some bundles) is the EF 50mm f/1.8 II. It's cheap and plasticky but has very good optical quality and is good for portraits and low light. You can easily buy it for less than US$90 separately.

The bundles all include very slow (Class 2) SDHC cards...which are much too slow for the T2i. You need a fast Class 6 (or ideally a Class 10 card) for the T2i, particularly when recording full HD video.

So, I recommend you NO NOT be tempted by these camera bundles. You'd be better off just buying the camera with kit lens (as a starter) or body only and a better lens.|||Hold on to your wallet.

These low priced, gray market deals with plenty of cheap bundled items will only cost you more in the end.

See if the "bundle" includes the factory battery and battery charger, companion CD and all the rest of what comes with a USA camera?|||As far as I know, there are no gray market Canons but I may be wrong. It's cheap for a reason but if you don't mind it, go ahead.
